Drag Racing Info, Team Plans & Links
The NHRA (National Hot Rod Assiciation) is the premier sanctioning body for quarter-mile drag racing. Hundreds of NHRA-sanctioned tracks all over the United States, Canada and Mexico promote classes of drag racing for everything from stock, street-driven cars to the fastest Top Fuel Dragsters. Parents are teaching the skills of the sport to the youngest drivers through their "Junior Dragster" classes; weekly Bracket Racing shows allow any vehicle that passes a safety inspection and driver with proper credentials to contimue the learning curve all the way to the NHRA Powerade® professional drag racing series. They don't forget the two-wheeled crowd: the Pro Stock Bike class shows the skills of riders at unbelieveable speeds! NHRA was founded in the late 50's to promote safety and has always been at the top of the class in that field -- the NHRA's "Safety Safari" is one of the best when it comes to on-track incident response. Heartland Park Topeka hosts a yearly stop of the NHRA pro series as well as the Lucas Oil® series for the sportsman racers.

Drag Racing Team Plans: At this time, our plans revolve around a 1972 Cutlass we originally purchased as a parts car. It was determined that the car was in far better shape than first thought, so we intend to turn it into a drag racer once we use it as a "test mule" for some autocross projects -- check the "Future Plans" page for more info!
